Fatal Roll Over in Costa Mesa: One Dead On Scene

On Monday, September 23rd at 9AM, a fatal traffic collision occurred at the intersection of Sunflower Avenue and Fairview Street in Santa Ana. Santa Ana Police and Costa Mesa Police responded to the scene, where a commercial truck and a red vehicle were involved in a serious accident.
The driver of the city sewage truck, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters and police quickly arrived to transport the driver of the red car for medical attention. The cab of the white commercial truck was covered with a tarp to prevent media outlets from capturing footage of the deceased individual.
Emergency responders worked to extricate the body of the truck driver from the vehicle. The coroner later arrived to take custody of the man. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
