Attempted Armed Robbery at South Coast Plaza: Shots Fired at Luxury Vehicle

Costa Mesa, CA • September 22nd, 2024

On September 22 at approximately 8:30 PM, an armed robbery unfolded outside Bloomingdale's at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. An unidentified suspect approached a white Lamborghini Urus and fired multiple rounds at the vehicle in an apparent attempt to rob the driver. One man was said to be shot in the leg during the altercation. It is still unclear if the men knew each other.

Local law enforcement responded swiftly, cordoning off the area and launching an investigation into the incident. Police have not yet released a description of the suspect or any information regarding a vehicle used in the crime.

SoCal PD Media reached out to the victim's family for further details but reported that they had no comment at this time. The police department has reassured the community that they are taking the matter seriously and are committed to enhancing safety in the area.
