Rollover Collision Draws Irvine PD Response

Irvine, CA • May 16th, 2025

On May 15th at approximately 1:20 p.m., officers with the Irvine Police Department were dispatched to Park Place following reports of a rollover traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers located a white Toyota with front-end damage and a blue Mazda that had overturned after striking the curb. Witnesses reported that the Mazda was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed before it collided with the Toyota and subsequently flipped onto its roof. The male driver of the Mazda was observed climbing out of the vehicle on his own, while the female driver of the Toyota remained in her car and contacted authorities.

Despite the dramatic nature of the crash, no injuries were reported. Paramedics were not required, and both drivers declined medical attention. Officers secured the scene, managed traffic in the area, and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision. Speed is believed to be a potential factor.

The roadway was partially blocked for a short time while the vehicles were cleared and debris was removed.
